Preliminary Approval (PA)

This photo shows our Preliminary Approval from the Chinese Government. In January we sent a "Letter of Intent" (LOI) requesting permission to adopt a specific child. We were required to submit proof of our financial situation as well as write a letter promising to provide good medical care for the child's special needs.

On February 27, the China Center of Adoption Affairs answered with this letter. It reads, "Notice..... M. McI and S. McI, Through the examination of the basic condition of the adoptive family and plan of treatment and rehabilitation for the child, Xiao Zhi Yu from Jiangxi Xiajiang welfare institute, it is agreed that the adoption will be carried out through the procedure for adopting children of special needs after the submission of application documents of the adopters according to their wish. "
