The man who discovered Cami on his way into work, took her to the police station. The policemen did much research, but the birth parents still could not be found. She was determined to be an abandoned girl and on the same day she was enrolled in the Xianjiang Social Welfare Institute for Custody and Upbringing.She was taken to Xiajiang County People's Hospital for a general physical examination. She weighed 7 pounds and she was 18 inches long. Aside from the unilateral cleft lip and palate, she was found to be a healthy, normal newborn.
She was given the name Zhiyu (zher-yu)
